By the way, did you know the famed dot-com site of San Francisco's Industry Standard is still alive and kicking? The prototype went live in August 2003, and it went public in January 2004 according to this page that includes demographic and readership information.
When I stumbled across the again today, I noticed that C|Net's political correspondent Declan McCullagh is writing a blog for them. That's interesting given the competition between IDG US and C|Net / Ziff Davis.
But it doesn't end with Declan. Take a look at The Standard's opinion page and you'll see a whole list of guest bloggers.
Oh, and if you're really curious about what the media pundits think of the site, check out the Trackback page.
So, will The Standard work as a blog-based site? I've added it's RSS feeds to my newsreader, so like many others I'll keep an eye on it and let you know.
