Was interesting to read the Reuters CEO extolling the virtues of citizen media over at BuzzMachine. He makes an argument for fair use vs unfair use. So here's a company that, despite the millions poured into its coffers by newspapers around the world, is still presumably making enough from the advertising on its web site to openly support deep linking by bloggers. Sounds like the best of both worlds!
Meanwhile, an update on the blogosphere word of the day/week: "Snarkiness." Apparently this is what happens when bloggers don't say nice things about each other.
We know all about this in Australia. Paul ("I have a T in my name") Montogomery exposed his literary genius by labeling yours truly and Charles Wright "dead media zombie parasites." Nasty! He's clearly not looking to get any freelance work from us in the future if/when his perennially-in-stealth startup thingy doesn't pan out. Heh. :)
